Max Services
Max’s Regular Service Packages
At Max Guitar Care, we recommend regular service, especially in the Spring and Fall, when the temperature and humidity change. In the Edmonton area, we experience large swings in temperature and humidity. When you heat your home in the winter, even if you use a humidifier, it’s difficult to keep the relative humidity above 40%. Once spring comes, the relative humidity rises to 60%, with the humidifier off. As Max says:
"Imagine being a wooden guitar held together by glue with all kinds of pressures and tensions in different places in your body, in a changing environment like that. No wonder guitars move and require adjustment."
So, the next time your guitar needs a string change, or just doesn’t quite feel right, like it used to, call us about one of our service packages below. We offer all of our service packages and repairs at competitive rates.
- The Value Package
Max will change your strings and check everything out, including tuners, neck, nut, and saddle. Report on condition and recommend service requirements. Includes strings, shop supplies, and 30 minutes professional service. - The Standard Package
As above with Value Package, plus Max will service tuners and jack, adjust truss rod if required, and set intonation on electric instruments. Includes strings, shop supplies, and 60 minutes professional service. - The Premium Package
As above with Standard Package, plus Max will adjust string action from saddle and nut. Includes strings, shop supplies, and 90 minutes professional service. - Repairs
Each repair is different. For this reason, we believe it’s in the best interests of our customers not to offer standard repair packages. We examine and estimate every repair individually. But once we quote a repair, we don’t exceed that quote, even if we need to spend twice as long on the repair as we had originally thought. That’s our “Peace-of-Mind Guarantee” to you.
Max’s Sales Consultancy Service
Some people love to shop and swap guitars. For others, it can be a nerve-wracking and intimidating experience. Some folks are uncomfortable about their lack of product knowledge and feel ill at ease with a cool-dude guitar salesman. The amount of technical information out there can be daunting. What’s a fair price? Am I being taken?
Max has bought and sold a lot of guitars since 1965. He knows what’s good and what’s not. And he knows about value and price. He will take the stress out of guitar shopping for you.
